Made from recycled telephone wire. This project provides employment in a farming area where approximately 80% of the residents are unemployed. The local people have developed various skills such as beadwork, basketwork and sewing. The artists vary from a group who produce crafts regularly and those who produce irregularly depending on their other commitments (e.g. planting crops, building huts, pregnancy). This project has helped to build a food scheme into the community as well as a creche. A few of the older boys are putting themselves through school using the incomes that they get from making these baskets.
